Thing 12

well, now i have got my very own subscription to you tube, complete with a tag on the igoogle page. I have watched things on youtube before- and setting up a favourites subscription is better than having a load of random things to look at everytime you type in the url. Although it did mean having to enter a load of personal details into the great www again. Anyway, this blog was a bit shorter than orginally intended, due to the fact as mentioned below, it took so long to get into the blog. Youtube kindly reminded me that the internet browser will not be supported for much longer, so heres hoping for an upgrade (!)

Thing 11 Podcasts

Right, well finally having managed to get into the blog, I can confirm that the podcasts were pretty straightforward. they are really useful, free way to keep up to date with news and events. the BBC ones have particulary interesting content from around the world.

Random Blog

Hallo

Well, before I go on to blog about the next things, I have to say that the things that have tripped me up EVERY time so far, have actually been the blogging itself. the signing in (due to the fact that we are still on IE6 and do not have admin rights to upgrade ourselves) makes me look all over the place, until I give up after about 20 minutes and have to ask James how to login. maybe next week I will actually remember the Sign in - open as new window (or at least this blog will remind me!!!!)

Thihng 10 -rss feeds

This was the continuation of thing 9, whereby another website was bookmarked and we set it into an RSS feed- it seemed pretty complicated, but maybe I was in a bit of a hurry and failed to check it our properly. Again, I am not really sure if it will be of use to me, but i will know what people are talking about in the future

Thing 9

Ok, for the ninth thing, we had to set up a yahoo account which was a bit of a nuisance- i have multiple email addresses/ passwords/ personal info stored all over the web, which makes me feel under the watchful eye of big brother, but there you go (rant of the day). Then we had to find a delicious account so it was quite interesting to see what one looked like- the bookmarks are referred to in most websites that i refer to, but I have never bothered with them before. Unsure of how useful it will be but at least I will know what people are talking about!

Week 3, Thing 5

Talking of getting confused, panning down my site I seem not to have blogged about my RSS feed experiences. It was OK and quite easy to set up, although on the web there are 'favourite' pge settings anyway, so I am not sure if there are any great advantages to a personalised page- at least it looks a bit different, and 'home is home' rather than one page opening up everytime the web is opened. there you go!

Week 4, thing 8

It is getting a bit confusing remembering which task relates to which thing to be honest, but I think the thing is the picnik account. this was much easier to create than the flicker account becuase it did not want a load of my personal details. Handily enough it also allowed us to edit the photo's. whether that is good or bad I don't know (what happened to the 'camera never lies?'). the cat got squashed and then elongated. at least that does not happen in real life.

Thing 7 week 4

Ok., for thing 7 week 4, we had to create a flicker account. It did not take too long and is very easy to do. It is a great way of uploading photo's- I do not have that many on my work PC funnily enough, but my poor cat is getting featured rather more than usual

Ok, I have done all my RSS feeding etc, but I could not resist putting in this bbc website link about how 'yesterday' blogs have become :).

Nevermind- I'll catch up with the rest of the world eventually!
